APPLICATIONS · CRANE & HOIST

When A Crane Limit Fails, The Load Keeps Moving.

Cranes and hoists drive every motion into a mechanical stop. The switches at boom, trolley, and hoist positions are the last stop before the structure, and they work outdoors in wind, dust, and temperature swings.

THE DEMANDS

What Crane Builders & Service Teams Ask Us First.

Drop-In Form-Fit Replacement

Most crane retrofit projects need direct dimensional replacements for legacy installations. Our housings match standard industrial mounting pitches and actuator heights, allowing direct changeouts without re-drilling structural brackets.

Cable Entry & Custom Lever Configuration

Outdoor gantries and electric hoists use varying conduit standards. We provide conduit threading options (M20×1.5, G1/2, Pg13.5) and adjustable lever arms up to custom lengths, matching your existing festoon cabling and strike dogs.

Certified Switching & Batch Traceability

For cranes serving export markets, switches comply with CE, CCC, and TÜV standards with documented electrical ratings. Each production batch undergoes dielectric and contact resistance testing before dispatch.

SWITCH POSITIONS

Positions On A Crane Or Hoist.

Hoist And Trolley Stops

Hoist and trolley motions end at stops on the track and the drum. Adjustable arms set the switching point to the travel of each motion.

Boom And Slewing Limits

Boom luffing and slewing end at mechanical stops on the structure. Metal-housed switches take the contact at these points.

Exposed Structure Positions

Structure positions meet rain, dust, and temperature swings through the year. Sealed metal housings cover the exposed corners of the crane.

RECOMMENDED PRODUCTS

Switches Suited To Crane And Hoist Duty.

These are general suggestions based on technical specifications. Contact our engineering team for a recommendation specific to your crane.

WL Series

BOOM, TROLLEY, AND HOIST STOPS

Robust die-cast aluminum body with IP66 oil and weather resistance. Double-circuit contact block with a dual-spring mechanism, designed for outdoor girder travel and winch drum limits.

TSA Series

HIGH-IMPACT MECHANICAL STOPS

Safety-rated limit switch with positive-break mechanism. TUV and CE certified. Manual reset variant (T4NR) available for lift door applications.

T4N / T4N-R Series

EMERGENCY OVERTRAVEL & SAFETY CUTOFF

Certified forced disconnect NC contacts (EN 60947-5-1) ensure positive circuit breaking even if contacts weld under surge. Optional manual reset (T4N-R) locks out the hoist until inspected.

TZ-8 Series

COMPACT AXIS & HOIST LIMITS

Ultra-compact vertical profile (approx. 1/3 the volume of standard limit switches) with an IP65 zinc-alloy base and fully openable terminal chamber for fast wiring in restricted compartments.

SELECTION PROCESS

How We Match Each Switch To Your Motion List.

Verify Impact & Travel Speed

We calculate the impact force based on your trolley or boom travel speed and dog geometry, ensuring the actuator arm and roller material (stainless steel or rubber) withstand repeated mechanical shock.

Match Ingress Protection

We specify the housing build—from IP65 zinc-alloy to IP66 die-cast aluminum or IP67 multi-sealed units—based on whether the position is sheltered in a machinery cab or exposed to outdoor rain, ice, and salt spray.

Assign Circuit Function

We match the internal contact blocks: choosing double-break snap-action contacts for standard travel indication, or certified forced-disconnect NC contacts with manual reset for emergency overtravel protection.

Send The Motion List. Get The Switch Per Stop.

Provide travel speeds, mechanical strike angles, conduit requirements, and ambient exposure. Our technical team matches the exact part number and arm profile within 24 hours.

MAINTENANCE

Checks That Follow The Inspection Cycle.

Cranes are inspected on a statutory schedule. The switch checks below fit into the same visit.
